I am originally from Houston, TX and currently reside in the Ohio River Valley. For the past 4 years, I have been the Technical Director for the acclaimed Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, running and managing a ten-person scene shop. I have overseen the engineering and building of scenery for fourteen shows every season. Prior to this, I was the Scenic Project Manager for a creative event production company. While there, I shepherded the design and production of custom-fabricated scenery for events of all scales, as well as unique décor and display elements for corporate environments.
Before relocating to Cincinnati, I was the Associate Technical Director for the prestigious Alley Theatre in Houston, TX. The primary focus of my work there was in the production of theatrical scenery. I have been responsible for the engineering, mechanical design, automation, budget and labor concerns for the full process of building scenery in a professional performance setting.
I am a multi-faceted scenic technician having worked and studied in numerous fields and disciplines within the large scope of entertainment technology. I have worked professionally and academically in New York, Austin, Houston, Cincinnati, and in national and international venues.
I began my professional career in New York City while an undergraduate in the theatre program at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. I specialized in live multi-media design integration and new performance. While there, I worked in various venues as an actor, director, designer and technician. Upon leaving college, I returned to Houston to work as a scenic carpenter for the Alley Theatre for 3 seasons. After leaving the Alley, I spent 8 months touring the country for Motivational Productions as an audio/video specialist.
Along the way, I worked in several places on several projects gaining skills and experience. Eventually I landed in Austin, returning to school to pursue my MFA in Live Entertainment Technology. The main focus of the program was theatrical scenic technology and management, but I also focused on studying interactive themed entertainment systems and show-control.
Shortly after returning to Houston, I founded a Community Involvement Committee dedicated to organizing our staff towards charitable works and social justice in our community. In the four years that I led the task force, we donated thousands of dollars and volunteered thousands of hours for less fortunate, marginalized people and the organizations that support them. It’s a legacy that I’m proud to say has continued after I moved on to work in Cincinnati.
In addition to my work in entertainment technology I am also a musician, playing upright bass in a bluegrass band. I live with my amazing wife, Rachel, on a 90 acre farm in the bluegrass region of Kentucky where we raise rabbits, chickens, and a handful of dogs and cats that just can’t seem to get along.

The drive to innovate and the need to interact fuels me.
I want to be diverse in the projects I undertake.
I want to find new ways of solving old problems while constantly challenging myself with even newer problems.
The people I work with should be excited by the prospect of making other people excited.

Stability is important, but the ability to explore is essential.
My purpose is to use technology in ways that engage and involve the audience, both transparent and opaque.
My goal is to find ways to inject my senses of humor, adventure and fervor into experiential productions that make lasting impressions.
My mission is to produce work that thrills and engages the people who participate in it, and keeps me equally thrilled and engaged.
